Elder Robert (Bob) Howell Mitchell

He was born November 2, 1967, in Bartow County, the son of Faye (Howell) Mitchell and the late, Robert Lee Mitchel. Bob’s greatest love was the Lord. He was currently pastoring Harmony and Euharlee Primitive Baptist Churches. He was a devoted husband and father. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He was a talented musician and played many stringed instruments and was a wild land fire fighter with the Georgia Forestry.

He is survived by his loving wife, Amy Mitchell of Rydal, children, Zach Townsend, Haley Townsend, Zoey Townsend, Emily Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, his mother, Faye Mitchell of White, sister and brother in law, Sheila and Dale Stiles of White, brothers and sister in law, Terry Mitchell of Emerson, Larry and Belinda Mitchell of Columbia, Alabama, brother in law, Timmy and Mary Williams of Cartersville, sister in law, Heather Smith of Cartersville, father in law, Henry Williams of Cartersville and nieces and nephews.

He was very involved with all his extended family and loved his nieces and nephews very much.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 19, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Elder Marty Hoskins, Elder Marty Smith, Elder Daniel Wood and Elder Daniel Tompkins.

Burial will follow in Faith Tabernacle Church Cemetery in Rydal.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Ben Stiles, Charlie Stiles, Leo Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Caleb Segars, Steven Williams, Chad Mitchell and Todd Mitchell.

Elders of the Primitive Baptist Churches will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Georgia is in charge of the arrangements.
