Mr. Church was born on September 14, 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana, son of King Church and Carmella LaRocca Church.
Mr. Church attended St. Joseph Seminary and graduated with his Masters Degree from Tulane. He is a veteran and started his career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. He retired from the State of Georgia as a Regional Mental Health Director after many years of dedicated service. He held a great passion for music and he greatly enjoyed attending operas with his wife, Pam. He enjoyed sports, especially the New Orleans Saints. He and Pam also enjoyed traveling to New York City and their last vacation was spent touring the National Parks. In his spare time he loved to golf and have dinner out on the town. His greatest passion was spending quality time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was of the Episcopal faith and a proud member of The Church of the Ascension in Cartersville.
Mr. Church is preceded in death by his father and his daughter, Laura.
Survivors include his loving wife of almost 30 years, Pam Church; mother, Carmella La Rocca; son, Robert Church of Warner Robins, GA; daughters, Michel Carriker of Catawba, NC, Jennifer Tilghman of Cartersville, GA, Aimee (Mark) Sams of Warner Robins, GA and Heather (Sean) Graham of Kennesaw, GA; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers, Paul Church and Dave Church, both of New Orleans, Louisiana; sister, Jeannie Pratt of Texarkana, TX; a niece and 2 nephews.
A service celebrating Bob’s life will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 3rd of Mary, 2018 at The Church of the Ascension.
