

Robert Eugene Snidemiller, 87 years old, passed away peacefully in his home Thursday November 21st, 2024 surrounded by love, held by his loving wife and best friend, Nancy A. Snidemiller. Bob was born June 3rd, 1937, son of late Henry Ransom and Sarah Snidemiller.
Bob joined the Marine Corps right after high school and served proudly for 24 years and retired as First Sergeant. He served two tours in Vietnam; First Battalion 12th Marines Artillery Fire Chief Howitzers. Also, in the blockade of Cuba when Russia tried to build a missile base, on a ship in the Mediterranean Sea to promote peace, on Land in the Dominican Republic and Washington D.C. during political uprisings.
Family meant everything to him - Survivors included his wife of 65 years; Nancy A. Snidemiller. Children: Stephanie (Clint) Smith, Robert (Janice) Snidemiller Jr., Vicki A. Snidemiller (Widowed), Keith (Traci) Snidemiller. Grandchildren: Clinton, Lyndsey, Jenna, Alyssa, Carly, Kelsey, Abby, Maddi, Sarah. Great-Grandchildren: Chase, Sheridan, Scarlett, Bennett, Cassidy, Hank, Luke, Rhett, Emma Jane and Wilder.
Bob had a green thumb and took great pride in his yard and garden. He enjoyed playing golf with his wife, Nancy. His favorite way to pass time indoors was playing Chess and putting together Jigsaw puzzles. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be deeply missed.
Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from four o'clock until six o'clock at Owen Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at eleven o'clock in the morning in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.
