Rosebud Strickland White

Mrs. White was born on September 19, 1922 in Atlanta, GA, daughter of the late Charles Ephraim Strickland and Rosebud Bradford Strickland.

Mrs. White was a loving, wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished her entire family and was loved dearly in return.

She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, James Bryan White, Jr (“BB”).

Survivors include her sons, James Bryan White, III (Louisa), Harry Bradford White (Vandi) and Francis Gilman White, III (Joyce), all of Cartersville, GA; daughters, Margaret Rose White, Sarah Pettit (Henry DeVaughn), Alice Crowe (Charles V., III), and Carolyn Brown (Grover James) all of Cartersville; grandchildren, Julia White Edwards (Bryan), Kathrine White Hewlett (Jimmy), Henry DeVaughn Pettit, Jr. (Johanna), Charles Strickland Pettit (Sarai’), Andrew Coleman Pettit, Lydie White Anderson (John), Anna P. White, Rose V. White, Sarah Crowe Chapman (Curt), Alice Crowe Ramey (David) Emily Crowe Hudson (Michael), Charles V. Crowe, IV, Elizabeth White Morgan (Jordan), Francis Gilman White, IV, Rose Marie Brown, Grover James Brown, III and Margaret V. Brown; sixteen precious great-grandchildren; brothers, Harry B. Bradford (Lucy) of Winter Garden, FL, and William O. Bradford (Peggy) of Cartersville, GA; a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at two-thirty in the afternoon on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Sam Jones United Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Lobello officiating. A private graveside service will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held for thirty minutes prior to service time in the sanctuary of Sam Jones United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions made to Flowering Branch Children’s Shelter, 49 Monroe Crossing SE, Cartersville, GA 30120, The Etowah Humane Society or Sam Jones UMC.
