Ruby Lee Whitt

Ruby is preceded by her parents and brothers Woodrow Bearden and Rev. Lon Bearden Jr. She is survived by her daughters Brenda Bauer, Rhonda (Mike) Gardner; grandchildren, Brigette (Kevin) Neale, Tyler (Tayler) Worley, Blake Walpole, Alex (Anna) Worley, Jennifer Walpole; great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Neale, Aubrey Worley, Scarlett Worley, Gabbi Rose Walpole, Truitt Worley, Knox Worley, Eli Hodges, Maddux Hodges; sister, Elsa Bearden Knight; brother, Robert Bearden; several nieces and nephews.

Bida worked at Saxxons Restaurant in Cassville until they closed down, when I-75 came through Cartersville. Then she went to work at Cartersville Undergarment until it closed, then Nantucket until it closed. She started working part-time at Kmart, while at Cartersville Undergarment, and worked there until they closed. She worked until the age of 83.

She loved everyone and everyone loved “Ms. Ruby.” She dressed up as an Elf at Christmas, and the Easter Bunny for many years while working at Kmart. She loved flowers and her gardens. She raised or helped raise all her grandchildren.

She was always happy and smiling.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Center Baptist Church with Rev. John Weems and Rev. Joey Phillips officiating. The interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Church.

Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Neale, Mike Gardner, Tyler Worley, Alex Worley, Blake Walpole, and Daniel Bearden.
