

Mr. Allen was born on February 7, 1926 in Cartersville "Cass Station", GA, son of the late James Verner Allen and Mattie Lillian Rackley.
Mr. Allen proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Allen was a small business owner and proudly served his customers for thirty-three years. The company's name was Super Parts and it was located in Cartersville, GA. Mr. Allen enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to fish, hunt and golf with his friends and especially with his grandson, John. He was very proud of his country and was an active member of the American Legion, The Elks, the VFW and the Moose Lodge. He was of the Baptist Faith and an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Cartersville, GA. Sam was a friend of the community and all that knew him, loved him dearly. He is already missed, but will never be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Allen; sister, Bobbie Sue Johnson.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Evelyn "Tootsie" Allen; daughter, Jan Couch; grandson, John (Mandy) Couch; very special great-granddaughter, Ansley Couch; brother, Louie R. Allen; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at eleven-thirty in the morning on Thursday, the 16th of November, 2017 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Dr. Don Hattaway officiating.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock in the evening until eight on Wednesday, the 15th of November, 2017 at Owen Funeral Home.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be made to The Boys and Girls Club of Cartersville, GA.
