While his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, his family finds peace in knowing that he is finally free from pain, illness, and suffering. After years of battling kidney disease and enduring the challenges that came with it, Shaun is now healed and whole in the arms of the Savior he faithfully loved and served throughout his life.
Shaun was born on October 11, 1979, at Floyd Hospital in Rome, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara Dutton Evans and Lewis Eugene Evans, and by his sisters, Cynthia Evans, Courtney Franklin, and Tami Karim.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sarah Evans; his beloved daughters, Madylin Faith Evans and Ava Grace Evans; his cherished nieces, Kirstin Rogers, Leah Karim, and Aniston Franklin; his nephews, Hunter Franklin and Derrick Ransdell; several great-nieces and great-nephews; along with extended family members, church family, fellow North Georgia Stangs members, and countless friends whose lives were forever touched by his kindness, faith, and friendship.
To know Shaun was to know a man who loved deeply.
He never met a stranger. Whether meeting someone for the first time or talking with a lifelong friend, Shaun had a unique ability to make people feel seen, valued, and welcome. He possessed a servant’s heart and genuinely cared about others. His warm smile, contagious laughter, and the beloved crinkles around his eyes made people feel at ease and often left them feeling like they had known him for years.
Above all else, Shaun loved God and loved his family.
In fact, Shaun once told Sarah that all he ever wanted in life was to be a husband and a father. Those who knew him best know that he fulfilled that calling with his whole heart.
While he worked for Arrow Exterminators earlier in life, one of the roles he treasured most was being a stay-at-home dad. He loved being present for his girls. He loved watching them perform at church, cheering them on at soccer games, creating family memories, and simply spending time together. Being a father was never a responsibility to Shaun—it was a privilege and one of the greatest joys of his life.
One of Sarah’s favorite memories was listening as Shaun tucked the girls into bed at night. Rather than simply saying goodnight, he would create stories completely from memory, inventing adventures on the spot that captivated Madylin and Ava. Night after night, they eagerly listened as their dad brought those stories to life. Those moments became treasured memories and reflected the creativity, warmth, and love that defined him as a father.
Shaun was also a man of unwavering faith.
A former youth pastor at Cup of Life Ministry and a faithful member of Adairsville Church of God, Shaun spent much of his life encouraging others to trust God. One of the phrases those closest to him heard most often was, “Keep your faith in God.”
Those words were more than a saying.
They were the way he lived.
His faith was especially evident in his prayer life. Shaun was a prayer warrior in every sense of the word. When he prayed, it was as if he were speaking directly to Jesus, his closest friend. He often laid hands on family and friends while praying passionately from the depths of his heart. His prayers were personal, powerful, and filled with faith.
One of the greatest gifts he gave his daughters was the example of a father who prayed with them every night. Through those nightly prayers, he taught them to trust God, depend on God, and carry their burdens to God. His legacy of faith will continue through the lives of the girls he loved so dearly.
Shaun’s love story with Sarah began in a modern way but quickly became something timeless.
The two met on http://Match.com. Shaun later told Sarah that the moment he saw her, he knew she was the one. Their first date took place at Appalachian Grill in Cartersville, Georgia. Sarah often joked about Shaun being late, but he would explain that he had arrived early and sat nervously in his truck because he had not been on a date in twenty-four years. The date went so well that they walked around downtown Cartersville together and ended up in Calhoun, Georgia, at Panda Express for dinner.
That first date became the beginning of a beautiful love story.
In 2019, during Christmastime, Shaun proposed with a special ornament that read, “Bonus question… Will you marry me?”
Sarah said yes.
Together they built a life filled with laughter, faith, family, and unconditional love.
On their wedding day, Shaun made Sarah a promise that he would tell her she was beautiful every day. True to his word, he faithfully kept that promise. He loved her intentionally, consistently, and wholeheartedly. Whether through words of encouragement, acts of service, holding her hand, packing her lunch, making breakfast, or simply making sure she had what she needed, Shaun demonstrated his love in countless ways every single day.
Sarah often said that when Shaun looked at her, he looked at her with such love and tenderness that it could still make her heart skip a beat.
He was a man who made those around him feel cherished. When he loved, he loved with every fiber of his being.
Outside of family and ministry, Shaun had a passion for cars, especially his beloved red 1990 Mustang, affectionately known as Karma. As co-president of North Georgia Stangs, he treasured the friendships and camaraderie he found within the club. He loved sharing his enthusiasm for cars with others and took great pride in Karma.
He also loved traveling with his family, and some of his happiest memories were made in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The beauty of the Smoky Mountains, time spent together, and the joy of creating family memories made those trips especially meaningful to him. It was also where he chose to marry Sarah on July 11, 2020. Making Pigeon Forge, TN a place that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Though Shaun’s life on earth was far too short, it was a life filled with purpose, faith, and love.
He loved deeply.
He prayed passionately.
He served faithfully.
He laughed often.
He gave generously.
And he devoted himself wholeheartedly to the people God entrusted to his care.
While his family grieves his absence, they rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that Shaun’s faith has now become sight. The man who spent his life encouraging others to “keep your faith in God” is now standing in the presence of the Savior he loved so much.
Though he is no longer physically with us, Shaun’s legacy will continue to live on through the lives he shaped and the people he loved. His faith will live on through the nightly prayers he taught his daughters. His love will live on through the memories shared by his wife, Sarah. His example will live on through his family, his friends, his church family, and all those whose lives were touched by his kindness, encouragement, and unwavering belief in God.
Those who knew Shaun best will remember that his greatest titles were not youth pastor, co-president, or car enthusiast. The titles he treasured most were husband and father.
The lessons he taught, the prayers he prayed, the love he gave, and the faith he lived will continue to inspire those who knew him for generations to come.
Though his family will deeply miss his laughter, his prayers, and the crinkles around his eyes when he smiled, they rejoice in knowing that he is finally home.
A Celebration of Life service honoring Shaun Ashley Evans will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Adairsville Church of God, 297 Old Dixie Highway, Adairsville, Georgia 30103. Family, friends, church members, and all whose lives were touched by Shaun are invited to gather as we celebrate his life, his faith, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
As Scripture reminds us:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
Well done, good and faithful servant.
Well done, Shaun.
