

Mrs. Booth was born on March 28, 1949 in Borderland, WV, daughter of the late Walter Burgett, Sr. and Patsy Runyon Burgett.
Mrs. Booth was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a lifelong called pastor's wife. Whether she was playing the piano, leading the band or involved in various women's groups, Shelvie was always an integral part of ministry by investing in the lives of others through the love of Christ. While earning her MBA Magna Cum Laude from Lee University, Shelvie served the students while working in the Education Department under the late Dr. Bilbo. She retired from Kennesaw State University where she served as a Business Director for the Facilities Planning and Design office. Shelvie was a very strong and independent person that everyone loved and respected. Shelvie loved spending quality time with her family whether at home, the beach, the mountains, cruising or shopping.
Shelvie is preceded in death by her sister, Irene Cox; brother, Walter Burgett, Jr.
Survivors include her loving husband, Donald Q. Booth, Jr.; son, Scott (Gloria) Booth; daughter, Sherry (Kevin) South; her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Haley Booth and Caleb South; sisters, Zolene (Joe) Foster, Mary (Daniel) Vanoy and Priscilla Palmer; sister-in-law, Brenda Burgett; beloved fur baby, Quentin; several cherished nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from two o'clock in the afternoon until three on Saturday, the 7th of January, 2023 at Owen Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at three o'clock in the afternoon following the visitation in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with her nephew, Rev. Marc Foster officiating.
