

He was born on April 18, 1937, in Cartersville to the late Leonard Coleman Jenkins and Leola Jenkins. Tommy was also preceded in death by his son, Hank Monroe Jenkins; sons-in-law, Sonny D. Patterson and Ron W. Kiper; brothers, Grady Jenkins, Leonard "Jack" Jenkins, Bobby Jenkins, and Frank Jenkins.; sisters, Elizabeth "Lizzy" Jenkins, Edna Amos, Thelma Luker, Lois Tidwell, Louise Harper, Mary Frances "Jean" Holcomb, Glenda Adams and his former spouse, Clemon Adams.
He is survived by his daughters, Sylvia C. Patterson and Shelia J. Kiper; grandchildren, Trenton Patterson (Jessica), Sonny Patterson (Alyssa), Jeremy Walsh (Erica), Alan Walsh (Rachel), and Hannah Davidson (Jonathan); great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Tucker, Sonny Rae, Colton, Rush, Deacon, Avalyn, Jacob, Jacie, Maggie, Andrew, Lucas, Daisy, Joyanna, Ariel, Cole, and Levi; great-great-granddaughter, Sadie; along with several nieces and nephews.
Tommy was a simple man who never met a stranger. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, but deer hunting was his true passion. He had a heart of gold, was known as a sweet and caring man, and deeply loved his family. He also enjoyed the music of Elvis Presley. Thomas was a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church and attended Zion Hill Baptist Church.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home. A Celebration of Tommy’s Life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Bro. Pete Hight officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
