Virginia Mae Story

Mrs. Story was born on July 17, 1932 in Cartersville, GA, daughter of the late Walter Haygood and and Celia Mae Watkins Haygood.

She lived her life for the Lord and was a lifelong member of The Church of God of the Union Assembly.

Mrs. Story loved spending time with her family. She loved to sew and she enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She loved and cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking biscuits and gravy for her grandkids every chance she could.

Mrs. Story is preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Story; her son, Wayne Story; sisters, Christine Martin, Charlotte Phillips and Louise Story.

She is survived by her son, Robin Story; daughters, Tina (Robert) Bays and Tammy (Jason) Chupp; brothers, Tommy (Connie) Haygood and Charles (Maryann) Haygood; grandchildren, Kristen (Dusty) Taff, Jessica Story, Zachary Story, Jacob Story, Shanna Jones, Austin and Destiny Chupp, Colton Chupp; special daughter-in-law, Patricia Story.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at The Church of God of the Union Assembly. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock in the evening until eight on Friday, the 26th of July, 2019 at Owen Funeral Home.
