W. Lamar Pinson

Lamar was born on January 27, 1950, to the late Rev. Hollis and Geneva Morris Pinson. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Snipes, and niece, Toni White.

Lamar is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Theresa White Pinson; daughter, Melissa Pinson Snipes; grandson, Benjamin Snipes; granddaughters, Samantha Snipes Fleming (Zeier) and Elizabeth Snipes McClellion (Melvin); brother, Dana Pinson (Carol); and several nieces and nephews.

A graduate of the University of Georgia, he earned a degree in Real Estate. Following his time at UGA, he worked with the Georgia Department of Transportation before establishing his own commercial real estate appraisal business, W. Lamar Pinson, Incorporated. God blessed his business and allowed him to serve many people throughout the community while establishing enduring relationships along the way.

Lamar was soft-spoken, calm, and compassionate. His joy came from helping others, especially those in need. He never sought recognition for the things he did and preferred to help quietly, often behind the scenes. His humble and generous spirit touched countless lives.

Lamar was a faithful servant of the Lord and a longtime member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and trustee. He thoroughly enjoyed teaching his Sunday morning Life Group. His faith was an important part of his life, and he treasured the Bible study groups he attended each week. Lamar lived out his faith through his love for others, his willingness to serve, and his quiet acts of kindness.

In his spare time, Lamar enjoyed riding his tractor on their property in Rome and fishing with friends. In his younger years, he enjoyed a good game of golf and riding his Harley-Davidson with Theresa.

Lamar leaves behind a legacy of faith, humility, kindness, and service. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, church family, and the many people whose lives he touched through his quiet acts of love and generosity.

Family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, with a Celebration of Lamar’s Life at 1:00 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church, with Dr. Patrick Latham officiating.

The Pinson-DeVault Life Group, as well as the current and former trustees of Tabernacle Baptist Church, are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers.

Lamar will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens following the service.
