Mr. Culberson was born on March 3, 1942 in Athens, GA, son of the late Faye Culberson and Marie Shoemaker Culberson.
Mr. Culberson proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from Hewlett Packard as the director of international logistics. His career came with an abundance of travel time to almost every country and he and his wife were able to go together and spend time sight-seeing all over the world. In their travels, they both found a deep love and appreciation for the food they ate, fine wines, different cultures, art and music. Mr Culberson also loved photography and enjoyed sharing his wonderful photographs as “slide shows”. Mr. Culberson was an expert chef and he enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. Everyone that knew Mr. Culberson will remember him for his naughty sense of humor that always made them laugh. He was the life of the party. He was of the Catholic faith and a proud and active member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Cartersville, GA.
Mr. Culberson is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Karen Culberson; son, David Culberson; daughter, Lauren (Chris) O’Neill; grandchildren, Shea O’Neill, Gabrielle Culberson and Jack O’Neill; brother, Chris (Donia) Culberson; sister, Michelle (John) Neal.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday the 5th of November, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi. The service will also be live streamed on the church website. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the evening until eight on Thursday, the 4th of November, 2021 at Owen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Culberson’s honor to St. Francis of Assisi, 850 Douthit Ferry Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120 .
