Mr. Gayton was born September 4, 1948, in Bartow County, the son of the late, Thurman Odell and Nellie Mae (Boozer) Gayton, was an Industrial painter and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving is his wife, Wanda (Hames) Gayton of Adairsville, his son and daughter in law, Derek and Kristi Gayton of Acworth, two step sons, James Hannah of Aragon, David Hannah and his wife, Stephanie, of Douglasville, three grandchildren, Justin and Spencer Gayton and Jake Hannah.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. James Hannah officiating.
Burial will follow in Bethel Crossroads Baptist church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
