Wilma Owens Edwards

Wilma Jean “Owens” Edwards passed away at 1:35 pm on 12-06-2107. Born December 7, 1929, she is preceded by her loving husband of over 50 years, Ralph Edwards. She is survived by her sister Maggie Garner, her brother Wayne Owens, her daughter Sheila Ayers and her husband Rick Ayers, her son Joey Edwards and his wife Melodie Edwards, her grandchildren Patrick Carter, Kristi Plank, Daine Edwards, Blake Edwards and his wife Amy Edwards, Elizabeth Edwards and great grandchildren Finn and Rhys Edwards. In addition, she is survived by her stepchildren Nick Ayers, Randa Whitfield and their families along with numerous nieces and nephews as well as her extended adopted family members. Also known as Mimi, she was well loved by friends, family, her church, and the residence and staff of Overlook at Cedarcrest Assisted living, where she last resided. Her life goal was not for success or financial resources, but simply for family unity and her love for God.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon, December 10th at 1:00 p.m. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Smith, Rev. Clinton Green and Donald Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will include Edwin Owens, Burt Owens, Derrick Owens, Joy Owens, Lamar Owens, Keith Owens, Gwendell Owens, Shad Laurich.
