

Born September 21, 1923 in Danbury, CT. to Joseph and Mary Ferris she lived and attended school in Pittsfield, MA. Later she moved to Springfield MA where she was a dental assistant for a number of years for her brother Dr. Alfred Ferris and was a member of the local Syrian Lebanese American Association. Married in 1957, she had one child, Mary Jo Craft. She moved with her husband in 1964 to Africa. They also lived in Saudi Arabia, and traveled extensively around the world. Upon returning to the United States she moved to Vermont and subsequently to Cary, NC where she resided for the last 28 years.
She was a homemaker and had many interests; hospital and Welcome Wagon volunteer, the Garden Club and as a dedicated member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter: Mary Jo Craft of Cary, Niece: Susan Azar of Monson, MA; Nephews: Robert Ferris, Charles Ferris and Thomas Miller all of Florida, along with several grand nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by brothers Alfred and Louis Ferris and sister Helen Miller.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 804 High House Rd, Cary. Burial will follow in Wake Memorial Park, 7002 Green Hope School Rd., Cary.
