Born in Munich Germany on March 22, 1948, he emigrated with his parents to the USA in 1953 and grew up in the New York City metropolitan area. Andrew was a devoted and loving Father to his three sons Yurij, Borys and Zenovy (and his wife Angela Wowczuk), who he shared with his first wife, Mary Zaliszczuk. His greatest thrill each day was thinking about and seeing his grandchildren - Joseph, Eva, Stefan, and Sofia. He is also survived by his dear wife Helen Wowczuk and her three children Karrie, Todd, Beth as well as grandchildren Riley, Tristin, and Zoe.
In retirement, Andrew resided in Cary, NC where he was involved in a book & wine club and provided support for local elections.
Andrew was a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and created a leading implementation framework called Accelerated Change for the Good (ACG). Known nationally as a creative problem solver, he helped many companies with process improvement and increased performance over his decades of work and even after retirement. In his final years, Andrew worked alongside his three sons in moving US Defense Innovation forward at the Civil-Military Innovation Institute Inc (CMI2) – an innovative nonprofit organization that significantly benefited from his knowledge and experience of continuous improvement.
A service will be Held at 4PM November 19 2022 at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Carnegie, PA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Vovk Foundation.
