

Anton (Andy) was born in Benwood, WV on January 27, 1929, son of Anton and Rose Mestrovic.
After graduating from Union High School where he was valedictorian, Andy earned his bachelor’s degree from Washington & Jefferson College where his basketball prowess earned him a place in the W&J Athletic Hall of Fame. Upon graduation, Andy joined Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company where he was a valuable team member of the Goodyear Wingfoot basketball team, in the National Industrial Basketball League. His tenure at Goodyear was interrupted by two years in the US Army, where he served in the Counter Intelligence Corps.
After retiring from Goodyear, Andy and his wife, Nancy (Cadot) lived in the Carolinas where he spent time on golf courses, local basketball courts, and enjoying the beautiful white sands of Hilton Head beaches.
In addition to his wife, Andy is survived by their children; Ann Pletcher (Brian), Robert Mestrovic (Carol), Susan Blaeser (Tim), seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Andy was predeceased by his sister, Jean and brother, Al and survived by his youngest brother, Jerry.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Special Olympics of West Virginia or the charity of your choice will be appreciated.
