He was born on March 10, 1947, in Cary, NC, to the late Buck and Ednabel Holder. He was a graduate from N.C. State University in Raleigh, NC in 1969. He was a mechanical contractor since 1970. He was a successful business owner of Holder Mechanical Designs, Inc., in Cary, NC, from 1980-2011. He loved fishing, sport fishing boats, being on the water, and N.C. State sports. But what he loved the most was spending time with his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and his dog Rex.
Rusty was preceded in death by his grandad, Max Collins; and uncles, Max and Fred Collins.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joanne; daughters, Amie Reinert and husband Kevin; Jill Klatt and husband Andy; grandchildren; Jackson and Avery Reinert; Taylor and Brody Klatt; brothers, Ruffin "Buck" Holder and wife Nancy; Marc Holder and wife Barbara; and nephews, Brian Holder and wife Kristin; Sean Holder and wife Kristin.
Memorial service will be on Thursday, April 26, 3 PM, preceded with a visitation from 1:00-3:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.
