Barbara is survived by her four children; Michael Enright, Colleen (Enright) Baker, Patrick Enright, Lisa (Enright) Luciano and 12 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother John Matkey. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wally Enright.
Barbara was born in Chicago, IL and attended Mercy high School. Her later role as a mother, wife and homemaker took her and her family from Chicago to San Francisco to Connecticut and finally, North Carolina. She took tremendous pride in raising her children and being there for her family.
After retiring to North Carolina and prior to being stricken with Alzheimer’s, Barbara enjoyed mahjong night and laughter with friends and good glass of wine. In her final years, Alzheimer’s robbed her of many of the things she enjoyed, but she still had a smile on her face and was quick to tell family she loved them. The family wishes to express it’s thanks to Brookdale of Cary, NC and Heartland Hospice who both treated her with compassion and dignity in a difficult situation.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at 1:00 PM Saturday May 11, 2018 St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary, NC with Monsignor Wall presiding. The family will greet friends just prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in Barbara’s name.
