Beulah Bea Mae Spencer was born in Osecola Mills, PA on August 10, 1921. She spent her childhood in Osceola Mills and Nanticoke PA, and later moved to New Jersey where she met her husband Norman Hansen. They were married in February of 1941 and lived in Newport RI, where Norman was stationed from 1943 – 1945 during WWII.
Norman and Bea had 3 children and decided to raise them in Bloomfield and Montclair, NJ. In June of 1972 Mr. Hansen passed away in Montclair, after being married to Bea for 31 years.
Bea moved to Williamsville, NY in 1974 and married Fred Spencer, a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran who lost his wife Gertrude to cancer in 1970. Fred retired from the military in 1977 and moved with Bea to Raleigh, NC to be close to her daughter Karen Hansen Dugan.
In June of 2013 after 39 years Fred passed away and Bea was moved into an assisted living facility in Cary, NC.
