Bill J. Stines, 79, of Raleigh died April 6, 2011. He was born January 18, 1932 in Gastonia, NC to Earl and Josie Stines. Bill was a veteran of the US Army. He was a Professor of Statistics at NC State University for 38 years. He was an active member of Ephesus Baptist Church and an extremely proud grandfather.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sue W. Stines; children, Billy and Susan Stines, Joy and Kevin Russell and Judy Stines; grandchildren, Jeffrey Stines, Bryan Stines, Steve Russell and Dave Russell.
A funeral service will be held 3:00p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Ephesus Baptist Church, 6767 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00-2:45p.m. prior to the service.
