Bobby was born October 27, 1925 in Harrisonburg, VA to the late Charles E. Garber and Eula Hawes Garber. He was a retired Sergeant Major and 32 year veteran of the US Marine Corp. He also retired from Capital Area Transit (CAT) of Raleigh, NC. Mr. Garber was a Mason and Shriner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles W. Garber; and sister, Beverly Nutty.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ann Virginia Whitmer Garber of Cary.
A funeral service will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511 on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will take place at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 3:00 p.m..
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Bobby's honor.
