Born in Lansing, MI, on January 9th, 1949 to Barbara and Arthur Frahm, Bryan graduated from Sexton High School and studied construction management at Michigan State University. As a young man, his adventurous personality guided him to seek rewarding opportunities. His gift of gab on a construction site landed him a career with Levi Strauss & Co., where he was named national salesman of the year. A dedicated and tireless worker, his engaging spirit landed him many business deals, but more importantly, friends for life. His true grit shined through in every job and challenge that life threw at him. Never meeting a stranger, he is known in the apparel and golf industry as a highly respected and knowledgeable friend and gentleman.
A beautiful gift offered to the world, Bryan touched everyone he met and left a lasting impression. His infectious smile could brighten any day and his stories could fill a room with laughter. His positive spirit left you wondering, how does the guy do it? Just the opposite of ‘a dog is man’s best friend’, Bryan was ‘a dog’s best friend.’ If you were one of Bryan’s dogs, it was a mutually rewarding and loyal companionship.
A natural athlete, Bryan made exercise part of his daily living. Learning the diligence of exercise early on as a high school wrestler, Bryan sharpened his skills through the challenge of competition, excelling in the sport and winning numerous titles. He loved the game of golf, his Michigan State Spartans, his body pump class and later in life - a good doubles tennis match. Bryan was also a student of meditation, and in the final weeks of his life when his energy was failing him, he found comfort and peace in the practice.
Bryan is survived by his devoted and caring wife, Christie, daughters, Melissa and Leah, sisters Jacqui Danek (Joe), Janene Frahm, and Annette Frahm (Jens Kieler). A loving uncle and great uncle to Denyce Kolosowsky (Mike), Meri Nociti (Rick), Suzette Schultz and great nieces and nephews, Riley, Avery, Rocco, Alex, Kristina, Adam and Atira. And, of course the loyal dogs, Sweet Elli, Huck Finn and Georgia.
To say that Bryan will be missed is an understatement; a great soul taken from us too soon. He leaves a huge void in the hearts of those that loved him. The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Duke Cancer Center, First United Methodist Church Cary (FUMCC) Stephen Ministry, the lifelong friendship of the Lansing brothers and the ‘Hood’ where Bryan truly embodied the spirit of his Hemlock Ridge community and where he will always be known as the “Mayor”. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the FUMCC Building to Serve Fund and/or the Wake County SPCA.
A celebration of Bryan’s life journey will be held on Monday, December 19th at 1:00 pm at First United Methodist Church Cary. A reception will be held following the service in the church Fellowship Hall at which time all stories and memories are welcomed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the FUMCC Building to Serve Fund and/or the Wake County SPCA.
