Carolyn was born September 2, 1946 in Raleigh, NC to the late Drewry Ray and Mamie Pulley Ray. She owned and operated Morris Day Care and was very involved in the childcare program at White Plains United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Haney; Imogene Ray; and Margaret Jones.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 48 years, William Benny Morris; sons, Channing Morris of San Jose, CA; and Ashley Morris of Raleigh; brother, Edgar Ray; sisters, Mary Lois Ball; Eunice Lee; Lynn Sorrell; Evelyn Johnson; Eula Mae Clark; and Frances Moody.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm Sunday, January 6, 2013 at White Plains United Methodist Church, 313 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511. The family will receive friends 1-2 pm prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will be held 11 am Monday, January 7, 2013 at Raleigh Memorial Park.
