Carolynne Elise Martin Butler

Carolynne Martin Butler 84, of Cary, N.C., died of complications due to Alzheimer’s on 12-19-2013. She is survived by her husband of 66 years Frank E. Butler. They were married on 12-19-1947. Her husband loved her dearly for all of those years.

Carolynne is also survived by three of her four children, Nancy Cornwell of Cary, Ed and Faith Butler of Apex, and Cathy Nelson of Raleigh. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is joined in Heaven by her daughter Marta Kerr and Marta’s husband Charlie (previously deceased).

Carolynne, born in Columbia, S.C. to Myrtle and Rembert Martin, graduated from USC and was an elementary school teacher for twenty years and retired from Wake Co. public schools. She enjoyed training her Sheltie dogs. She enjoyed Golf and claimed three holes in one and a tournament win. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband and family. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and spent a lot of time following them through their sports, camping with them and watching them grow up.

Memorial will be 2PM on January 4th, 2014 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary, N.C.
