Celia Ann Brantley Burns

May 17, 1941August 3, 2014

Ann Burns grew up in Bunn NC & resided in Cary since 1962. She was born in Wayne Co. Michigan, the only daughter to Frances Melva Chappell of KY & Grady Reynolds Brantley of NC.

Ann was a graduate of Bunn High School & attended Peace College. Community service was extremely important to her. Ann worked at Dorcas thrift Shop for 19 yrs., & co-founded the Circuit Rider Food Ministry 2 years ago. Ann was a member of the Sondei Vineyard Church, Asbury Station Chapter DAR, Past State President NCSCAR, Colonial Dames & Sigma Xi Zeta Chapter. Her favorite title was “Professional Grandmother”

Ann’s family includes her husband of 53 yrs, TJ Burns, Jr. of Cary, her son Jeff Burns (Nancy) of Clayton; her daughter Mary Suzanne Burns Evans (Jason) of Cary; grandchildren Tommy & Joey Burns, Holly Ann, Andrew, & Merrideth Evans; brother Neal Brantley (Diane) of Clayton; Sister Sheila Cunningham (John) of Vienna VA; sisters-in-laws Peggy, Irene & Gail Brantley, & numerous nieces & nephews.

Service with be held on Thurs. Aug. 7, 2014 at 2pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd. Cary, NC 27511, with a visitation will be held at 1pm with service to begin at 2pm. A graveside service will follow at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dorcas Ministries Food Pantry, 187 High House Rd, Cary, NC 27511.

I'm sorry to hear about Mrs. Burns. She was a very sweet lady and very giving. Her husband is very sweet also. We all know she is now in the hands of the Lord and shall suffer no more pain.
