There they raised their 3 children and lived for 34 years before finding their first retirement stop, Leisure World in Silver Spring, MD. After multiple visits to North Carolina, Fran and Charlie decided the active adult living community of Heritage Pines in Cary, NC was a good fit for them and they moved there in 2006. Charlie was involved at his church in Cary, St. Michael the Archangel. He volunteered at the Raleigh Art Museum and served on the Town of Cary board overseeing the various town festivals.
Charlie loved to travel and he and Fran visited many different cities and countries- from Ketchikan Alaska to St. Petersburg Russia. Some of his favorite trips were cruises they took with their children and grandchildren. He was funny, smart, a great storyteller, and a genuinely kind and generous man.
