Chuck was born in Richmond, Virginia, on July 16, 1955. He lived each day to the fullest and always carried a positive attitude. He was a kind and genuine person who truly valued each of his friendships. Anyone who knew Chuck would say that he was one of the most caring, dependable, and hardworking people they had ever met. His sense of humor, warm heart, and ability to make others feel welcome left a lasting impression on everyone around him.
Chuck was all about taking trips and making memories. He loved spending time at the beach with his family and dreamed of traveling the world and taking his loved ones on new adventures. Chuck loved playing games, sharing laughs, and spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.
Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Brian (Brianne) and Kathryn Gentry (Lucas); and his beloved grandchildren, Charlie, Brooklyn, Gunnar, and Scottie. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Mary Elizabeth Hastings (Beth).
In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made to “Dementia Society of America” in memory of Charles Elmo Hastings.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
