Thank you Ed for your help and Friendship over the years

Dear Trish and Family.  Rae and I were so sorry to hear of Ed's passing, but we expect he will be having some glorious bike rides in the hereafter.  

I have some fond memories of my days with "Uncle Ed".  I always called him that.  When he was proudly showing me his new motorcycle, I asked him where the kick start was and he just rolled his eyes at me.  We used to have fun kidding each other.

I remember a trip that Ed, Zak Balado and I took to Ontario, CA. to teach a class.  After class we drove (Ed always wanted to drive) up into the San Gabriel Mountains.  We got to a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant just before they closed around 8:00 PM.  We all ordered hamburgers and a beer.  On the way back, there was a great view of a starry night.  It was a nice memory with Ed.

Once, my marketing manager scheduled me to work in a technical class with Ed.  Technical classes were Ed's strength, not mine.  During one of the many labs, I noticed Ed was standing behind the podium working on something.  When I got to Ed's side of the podium, I saw he had taken a ThinkPad apart down to every last screw and was putting it back together again.  He loved his job.

I know you have many memories to help you through this.  Ed was a joy to know and to work with.  Please know that you and your family are in our hearts and prayers.

Trish and Family, My thoughts and prayers go out to each of you. I worked with Ed during my career in Education and always enjoyed his free spirit and how he enjoyed riding his bike everywhere. If IBM allowed him to ride to California, I know he would do it! We had some very fun times and I will sincerely miss him.

Words cannot describe how sorry I am to hear of Ed's passing.  Ed was a great guy and a person who brought a smile to everyone who had met him.  It is hard to say goodbye to someone so close, but know that he will always be with ya'll everywhere ya'll go.  Stay strong and know that he is in a better place. Dear Pat and Family, we were very sad to hear about Ed.    He was a good friend and neighbor and a great co-worker.  We shared many good times with Ed and family --camping, New Year's Eve, Saturday night outings...  When needed, he was always there. You never had to ask, even when it meant lifting a 100 pound transmission over his head while laying under a Jeep.  I'll never forget that day.  The camping trips were great fun although I'm still not sure how he got me to replace the fuel pump on his motor home.  With a heavy heart we send our sympathy for your loss.  Ed will be missed.

Trish and Family, we were so sadden to hear this.  I really thought that I would have dinner with ED and Trish again.  I am blessed to have had the pleasure to work and play with Mr.  Ed.  His free spirit and down home demeanor always made delivering IBM education all over the country a pleasure.  He always displayed a fun loving but professional attitude.   I am so lucky to have so many great memories both professional and causal.  Ed Holland will solely be missed by all of us.

It was my great pleasure to get to know Ed while attending many IBM courses over the years. It was only once a year that I would see him as I live out of country , but I always enjoyed his teaching , his views , his positive attitude .. I just heard the news today. I am personally saddened by his loss , but personally a better man for having met Ed.

Ed was a special man.  He seemed  not to fear anything in life.  He always wanted to live life to the fullest.  Try to remember the good times you all had with him.  I am sure they will bring smiles to your faces.  He was very brave to the end..

Ed was uniqure in that he always knew where he wanted to go and just how to get there, especially on two wheels.  I'll never forget the road trips to Daytona, Knoxville or just running the twisties up in North Georgia and beyond.  As everyone who knew Ed knows, his preferred method of travel was on two wheels and I feel fortunate to have traveled with him.  He will be missed and I hope his family knows how much we share their sorrow.

Pat & Family, we were so sorry to hear this.  I really thought that I would be riding again with Ed one year and it sadens me that I won't be able to.  Ed loved the freedom that riding gave us and I am so lucky to have so many great memories of those adventures as well as many great pictures.  

I thank GOD for all of the wonderful memories that I do have with Ed and the family and you all will always be in our hearts.

 I don't know what to say.  Ed was a special person who loved his family and loved life.  Even though I didn't see much of him during his later years of life, I admired his drive and ambition, his knowledge, his dedication and his wonderful sense of humor.  All of his suffering is over and he is with his Mom and Dad, watching over all of us who grieve his passing.  Love you Ed.  May you rest in peace.

Dave and I were so sorry to hear of the passing of Ed.  Cherish his memories as if he is still with us all.  He will be sadly missed and always in our hearts.
