It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cheryl Jensen, or “Auntie C.” Cheryl, at her core, was a lover of art, history, gourmet food and world travel. She lived 84 years but had enough adventure for two lifetimes. Even as a child, she marched to the “beat of her own drum” and never hesitated to challenge the neighborhood boys to a race. She loved her independence, detective shows, and ice water.
Cheryl had a strong work ethic and drive; She rose to a management position with LeFrak Organization, managing multi-million dollar real estate properties in the heart of New York, for most of her career. Cheryl never missed a shopping spree at Nordstrom’s or Talbot’s. She loved many Bengal cats throughout her adulthood and never ceased to love and support animal rescues.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, who raised her most of her childhood, her father, mother, and younger sister. Cheryl is survived by her family, not by blood, but in love: Edward Scott Saltzman, Josephine Saltzman, Ashley Saltzman and child, Dara Carey, and children.
Cheryl Jensen will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held in her honor on Sunday, November 15th, 2026, at 1:00pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home (200 Southeast Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to SPCA of Wake County at https://spcawake.org/ways-to-give/.
