Dale Graydon Broderick

Ruth Gibson (Tuley) Broderick, 91, and Dale Graydon Broderick, 92, passed away just days apart in June and July at their home in Cary, North Carolina.

After nearly seven decades of marriage, they left this world together, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and family

that will be cherished for generations.

Ruth was born on February 6, 1935, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to William and Lois (Gibson) Tuley. After earning a degree in American History from Swarthmore College, she met Dale in

New York City, and they were married in December 1957. Together they built a loving family while sharing a lifetime of intellectual curiosity, adventure, and partnership.

Dale was born on May 29, 1934, in West Haven, Connecticut, to Frank Kirby and Mary Jane (Hollenbeck) Broderick. He earned a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the

University of Michigan, followed by an MBA from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University. He served as a professor at the University of New Hampshire and later, through Broderick Associates, trained thousands of bankers around the world. He enjoyed tennis, running, and later in life, cycling, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Although Ruth devoted herself to raising their four children, she later pursued a successful career in real estate before earning her MBA at the University of New Hampshire, where she graduated

at the top of her class. She and Dale went on to teach together at financial institutions throughout the country. Ruth had a lifelong love of history, tennis, and travel, especially to France, where

she enjoyed speaking French. She was also an exceptional cook whose recipes, traditions, and love of gathering around the table became treasured gifts to her children and grandchildren.

Together, Dale and Ruth created a home filled with learning, laughter, and unwavering support for their family. Their partnership was marked by shared accomplishments, enduring love, and a

commitment to helping others grow, both personally and professionally.

They are lovingly remembered by their three children, Leslie Lavender (Jack), Christopher Broderick (Ben), and Amy McVeigh (Scott) and were predeceased by their beloved daughter,

Janet Malavarca (Steve). They are also survived by ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a large extended family of siblings, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss them deeply.

Though their physical presence is gone, the love they shared and the lives they touched will continue to inspire all who knew them.

Their family is planning a celebration of their lives at

their beloved lake home at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Ruth and Dale's honor to the ASPCA or the Wounded

Warrior Project.
