Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Tomasa Agustin, and his brothers, Virgilio and Florante Agustin.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Cora; his daughter, Michelle Orejola; son-in-law, Lambert Orejola; and his cherished grandchildren, Carson and Erin. He also leaves behind his sisters in the Philippines, whom he loved as his own children: Sally Cruz, Tess Delos Reyes, and Miriam Portillo, along with many beloved nephews and nieces.
Dan was born and raised in Bulacan, Philippines. In 1992, he immigrated to Waltham, Massachusetts, where he built a life and career. In 2018, he retired and a year later moved to Durham, North Carolina, to live next door to his only child, Michelle, and her family.
Known affectionately as “Daddy Danny” and “Dan the Man,” Dan took great pride in his career in the Marketing Department of Tufts Health Plan. One of his fondest accomplishments was attending classes at Harvard University through his work—something he was especially proud of because he had never attended college in the Philippines.
Dan was also incredibly proud of his grandchildren. Whenever Carson and Erin visited, he loved showing them off to his former officemates and sharing stories about them.
A devoted fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox, Dan proudly decorated his car with both teams’ banners whenever their seasons began. His enthusiasm for his teams was just one of the many things that made him uniquely Dan.
Most importantly, Dan found his faith in Jesus Christ. He was a member of Glory of God Christian Fellowship, where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. On Father’s Day in 2025, he publicly declared his faith through water baptism.
Dan’s greatest prayer was that everyone he knew—especially his beloved siblings—would not simply know about Jesus, but would come to know Him as their Lord and Savior. His faith and this prayer will remain an important part of the legacy he leaves behind.
Dan was deeply loved by his family and friends. His humor, generosity, pride in his family, love for his teams, and unwavering faith will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
