Derek Joel Baggett
July 28, 1977 – January 8, 2020
Derek Baggett went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2020. He was born in Cary, NC on July 28, 1977. Derek was admitted to the hospital after Christmas with complications from the flu, which caused a chain of other medical problems. The last year was a very difficult year for Derek. He went through several hospital stays, a partial leg amputation, rehab for 3 months and the final stay in the hospital. He fought hard until there was no strength left to fight with. He will be missed.
He had a sense of humor and enjoyed working with wood in his workshop. Derek passed knowing the LORD Jesus was there to greet him.
Derek is survived by his mother, Janet Baggett; sister, Carmen Dupree; brother, Jeremy Baggett and his wife, Lesley; and nephew, Hunter Dupree.

Janet, just heard of Derek's passing. Rusty and I are so so sorry. I can't imagine the pain you are in right now. My heart breaks for you. I hope you find comfort knowing he is with Sonny right now, even though losing a child is almost more than we can bear. My past pastor's son in his forties also just died from the flu a couple of weeks ago. I just can't imagine. I wish I could put my arms around you right now. Hate that we have lost touch. When and if you feel like it, I'd like to have your email/phone number to talk with you. You and your children are in our prayers and thoughts.
