Born in Parma, Ohio on November 7, 1933, Duave was the daughter of the late Theodore Herman Hein and Olive Jane Gildersleeve Hein. She carried through life a steady resilience, meeting each season with quiet strength and a gracious spirit.
Duave graduated from Parma Schaaf High School in Pharma, Ohio in 1951, and later earned her degree from Harrisburg Area Community College in Harrisburg, PA in 1986. Her path reflected a determined heart and a thoughtful commitment to growth, marked by perseverance and purpose.
Duave is survived by her husband, George Gary Goss; daughter, Debra Hammer (Jack); sons, Clifford R. Goss (Martha) and Russell T. Goss (Rhonda); four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life, and her compassionate, kind-hearted presence was felt most deeply in the care she gave and the constancy with which she loved.
Throughout her life, Duave found lasting joy in gardening. In that patient, attentive work, many recognized the same gentle qualities that defined her—an enduring tenderness, a giving nature, and a calm strength that did not seek attention, yet offered comfort all the same.
