Dylan was born April 24, 1992 in Chapel Hill, NC to his mother April Taylor Rogers and father William Sheridan Scarth. Dylan was a kind, considerate, & genuine young man. Dylan loved his family, friends, and co-workers, and he was in turn loved by many.
As a child, Dylan enjoyed playing with his brother Sheridan. They used to love jumping on the trampoline and riding their dirt bikes/four-wheelers. He enjoyed being on the water, especially tubing behind his dad’s boat. He was very good with his special needs brother, Willie, and spent a lot of time doing different activities with him. He enjoyed bowling, playing basketball, and watching Duke basketball with his Dad or grandparents. He joined his Dad, stepmom, and step-siblings on vacations as an older teen & young adult. He loved spending time with his Mom’s family who live in VA, especially his cousins Justin and Jordan. Dylan was very close and spent a lot of time with his maternal grandparents who live in Durham.
In middle school Dylan played football and was in the school band where he played the trumpet. When Dylan was in high school his older brother Sheridan passed away tragically. After this, Dylan decided to complete his education by getting his GED and was proud of that accomplishment.
As an adult Dylan enjoyed carpentry and was currently working as a carpenter/painter for his father at Premier Painting and Home Improvement. He also worked for his stepfather’s company Car Electric on and off over the years. During the time he lived in Ohio he worked in a convenience store.
Dylan accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the young age of 10 and was baptized along with his father and brother at Bethel Christian Center. He recommitted his life to Christ when he was 29 and living in Ohio. He decided to get baptized again at a friend’s church and was excited about his decision. Shortly after he moved back to NC, Dylan enjoyed attending local church services. Dylan will be missed by all who loved him and we look forward to reuniting with him in heaven one day.
Dylan was predeceased by his brother, Sheridan Scarth; and paternal grandmother, Barbara Lezette.
