Edson Robert McKinney Jr.

Edson Robert “Bud” McKinney passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. He was born September 14, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Edson Robert Mckinney Sr. and Virginia (Herman) McKinney. Bud was a retired Software Engineer from IBM and also a Real Estate Agent. He was a resident of Cary, North Carolina since 1990.

Bud is survived by his wife of 55 years, Beth McKinney, a son, Robert McKinney and wife Renee of St. John, Indiana, and a daughter, Julie McKinney of Knoxville, Tennessee. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Nathan Stuart, Addison McKinney, and Amanda McKinney. His two sisters, Karen Lee Cundiff and Linday Kay McMillan.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
