

Mr. Danaher was born in Waterbury on August 5, 1925, son of the late Michael J. and Nora (Dwyer) Danaher. He joined the city's Scovill Mfg. Co. after graduating Crosby High School in 1944, where he worked as a tool designer (and often played in its bowling leagues) for over forty years, until he retired from its successor company in 1985. He was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel's Church in Cary, and previously attended St. Patrick's Church in Waterbury, where he served as Treasurer of the Holy Name Society and was a frequent volunteer in bingo nights, until moving to North Carolina in 2003. In addition to Mrs. Danaher, "Ed" leaves three sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas Danaher and Lorraine Deverell of Cary, NC, Timothy and Diana Danaher of Ellicott City, MD, and Brian Danaher of Washington, DC and Massachusetts, as well as four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many Danaher and Barnes nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in America, Ireland, Scotland and around the world.
Mr. Danaher was pre-deceased by his older brothers and sisters-in-law, M. Joseph and Zoia Danaher (of West Hartford and Westerly, RI) and Francis and Ella Danaher (of Wolcott, CT).
Arrangements: Brown Wynne Funeral Home (family only) and funeral Mass at St. Michael's at 1pm on Friday, June 3.
