He leaves behind is wife of 46 years, Jean, his daughter Beth Morgan and her husband Brian, his son Ted Williams and his wife April and 5 grandchildren, Hannah, Noah, Hill, Reese and Nate.
Born August 26, 1943 in Childress Co. TX son of Edward Hill and Mary Kathrine Williams Sr. He was the oldest of 7. They lived in many places as they traveled with the military including Japan where he attended Johnson High School and has attended numerous JHS reunions.
Ed was a U. S. Army and USMC veteran and worked for IBM until retiring in 1996. But his real passion was for the Boy Scouts of America. From reaching the level of Life Scout himself , to leading his son’s Troop, 165, where he (Ted) received the Eagle Scout Award, to working at Boy Scout Camp Durant, to being awarded the honor of Vigil in the Order of the Arrow and the Silver Beaver award he was always involved giving his heart and time to Scouting.
When he wasn’t helping out with Scouts Ed enjoyed camping, spending time with his grandchildren, volunteering with the Women’s Center of Wake County, and vacationing with his wife.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. A visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
