

Please shed no tears, just celebrate my 102 years. Eleanor King Creel, a lifetime Wake County resident, died p e a c e f u l l y We d n e s d a y, April 10, 2013. Eleanor was the daughter of Rufus W. King and Elizabeth Young King, and grew up on their Raleigh peach orchard with her nine siblings. Eleanor was a devoted wife and mother, a consummate homemaker, and a talented seamstress. She delighted in her bridge parties and activities with her church friends. She especially enjoyed her membership and privileges in the Sir Walter Cabinet.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Creel. She is survived by her four children, Sue C. Adams and husband, Charles H. Adams, Chapel Hill; Ann C. Morgan and husband, Floyd T. Morgan, Raleigh; Jane C. Fox and husband, Charles G. Fox, Albertville, Alabama; and William C. Creel, II and wife, Kathryn C. Creel, of Cary. “Sweet Mama” was blessed with ten grandchildren, Robert J. Bell, Jr., Cary; Michelle A. Szwajkun, Park City, Utah; Gregory T. Morgan, Salt Lake City, Utah; Marc C. Morgan, Raleigh; Victor C. Fox, Turlock, California; Elizabeth F. Phillips, Chattanooga, Tennessee; William C. Creel, III, Cary; and
Bradly B. Creel, Cary. She was predeceased by grandchildren, Creela Nichol Fox and CharlesScott Adams. Additionally, Eleanor
was survived by fourteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Eleanor also cherished her stepgrandchild,
Glenis R. Campos and husband, Alberto.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Cary, where Eleanor was a member since 1946. The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. at the church immediately prior to the service.
The family offers a special thanks to those at Glenaire Retirement Community who lovingly cared for Eleanor for more than twelve years.
