Faye T. West

Faye T. West, 71, of Raleigh, NC, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014. She grew up in Deep Creek, VA and lived in Wilmington, NC for over 20 years before moving to Raleigh in 1993. She was an active member of Pine Valley United Methodist Church while in Wilmington and now at St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Garner. She worked as a child psychologist for New Hanover County and then Wake County. Faye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and mother-in-law.

Faye is survived by her daughter, Donna Waters and husband, Tracy; son, Mark West and wife, Lea Anne; grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan and Megan Waters and Matthew and Lauren West; sister, Judy Baker; brother, John Ray Taylor; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Golda Taylor, and husband, Danny E. West.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Friday, February 21, 2014 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1201 Maxwell Drive, Raleigh, NC 27603. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1201 Maxwell Drive, Raleigh, NC 27603 or Kay Yow Cancer Fund, 5121 Kingdom Way, Suite 305, Raleigh, NC 27607.
