Mrs. Phillips was born on August 11, 1908 in Warsaw, North Carolina, to the late Edward and Mary Frazelle. Florence attended St. Mary’s College in Raleigh, where she studied fine art. She married the late Llewellyn Bernice Phillips and settled in Raleigh, where Florence thoroughly enjoyed her long career as a florist.
Mrs. Phillips lived in the state of North Carolina her entire life, and was an active member of West Raleigh Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by siblings Howard Frazelle, William Frazelle, Sarah Larkin, Lois Johnson and Vivian Bailey. Mrs. Phillips is survived by her sister Helen Frazelle Marchese, her daughter Mary Llew Hill, her son Mark Phillips, and her grandchildren Maria Hill, Michael Hill, Melissa Hill and Michelle Hill Burton.
A private service will be held at Montlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Glenaire Foundation of Glenaire Retirement Community in Cary, North Carolina.
