Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 4, 1935 in a loving Italian family. His father, Carmine and mother, Josephine had five additional children; daughters, Marie, Theresa, Rose and Antinette (Nettie); and son, Louis who died at the young age of eight years old. Frank’s father died when he was four years old.
He grew up in Brooklyn; then in 1959 enlisted in the US Army where he served for six years as a 16th Signal Corp Technical Specialist specializing in Radio Communications during the Vietnam War time. During his time in the Army, he also attended Queensboro Community College where he graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree.
May 1961, Frank marries the love of his life, Arleen Joel from Franklin Square, NY. One year later, they welcome their first son, Donald William Scuotto. February 1964, they have another son, Robert Frank Scuotto. With the start of their new family, they moved to their first home in Ozone Park, NY where they lived with Frank’s mother, Josephine and his special needs sister, Nettie.
In February 1965, Frank left the Army, and with his Engineering degree ready for his next chapter. He gets his first of many Engineering jobs and starts his career path. In 1969, Frank and his wife with their two boys move to Long Island, NY. He continues his Engineering career with GE Labs and is awarded several patents for LED and ultra-high vacuum technology. In 1972, the family moves to Commack, Long Island, NY and in 1979, they welcomed their daughter, Melissa Renee. Frank enjoyed working in the yard, family and being an active member of his church.
For the next 13 years, they lived in Commack, NY until the birth of their grandson, Ryan Scuotto, in North Carolina. Having their only two grandchildren, Brittany and Ryan in North Carolina, they decided to move south and did not look back.
In 1999, Frank retires from engineering and works part-time at his son and daughter-in-law’s business. This was mainly to, as his wife says, ‘keep him out of her hair’. He always welcomed everyone at work with his regular, ‘Hello Buddy, how ya do’in?’.
Frank’s daughter gave birth to their 2nd grandson, Dylan, in June of 1998. Frank and Arleen were a big part of his upbringing and loved him dearly. In July 2020, Ahmari, his third grandson is born.
In 2014, Frank’s wife dies and he moves in with his son, Don, and daughter-in-law, Kelly, for the next eight years until his death. He will be greatly missed by all!
