

Gennaro M. Carrazzone known to many as Gerry was born January 27, 1923, and died July 27, 2013. Gerry was a resident of Cary, North Carolina. He graduated from High School in Millbrook, New York in 1941. He was attending the University of Alabama when he joined the Army Air Corps in 1943 and trained as a pilot. He was assigned to the 306th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force as pilot in command of a B-17 Bomber and flew 35 missions over Germany. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with Seven Oak Leaf Clusters. He continued in the Air Force Reserve after the war and retired with the rank of Major. He graduated from Saint Louis University in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Gerry spent 35 years with IBM in management. He started the manufacturing plant in Poughkeepsie, New York and then joined the IBM Work Trade Corporation spending four years in Manufacturing Headquarters in Paris, France. He retired as Director of the World Trade Distribution Center.
He is survived by his wife, Gesine; daughter, Barbara Walsh; son-in-law, Kevin Walsh; and grandsons, Michael and Brian Walsh. He is also survived by 4 sisters, Theresa Curatolo, Linda Christie, Louise Vinciguerra, and Ann Armet and 3 brothers, Alfred, Renato and Louis Carrazzone.
In addition to his parents, Louis and Linda Carrazzone, he was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn and brother, Fernando.
Funeral services will be private.
