Geoffrey McGaughey, 58, died unexpectedly January 1, 2011. He was born in Burlington, NC to the late James and Mary Ruth (Fisher) McGaughey. Retired from NCSU as a research analyst, Geoffrey was an accomplished photographer, musician and poet. He loved all creatures, was compassionate and will be missed by all who knew him.
Geoffrey is survived by his life partner, Amy Buckner; brothers, Jim McGaughey and wife, Lynette of Youngsville, NC, William McGaughey and wife, Terri of Durham, NC; nephew, Matt McGaughey and niece, Christine Trainer.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC.
