

Gladwin W. Suggs, Jr., 75, passed away on March 22, 2012 surrounded by his family. Born on June 9, 1936 in Dublin, NC; he was the son of the late Gladwin Suggs, Sr. and Sarah Bordeaux Suggs and brother of the late Edwin Lewis “Buddy” Suggs.
Gladwin graduated from High School in Elizabethtown and went on to Dale School of Medical Technology and Hardbargers Business College to attain his degree in Business Administration. He met his wife, Carolyn Faye Davis in April of 1958 while at college and they were married June 13, 1959. He served honorably in the US Army, attaining SP-4 status with the Army Security Agency and retired after 35 years in civil service with the Postal Service.
He enjoyed time with his family, NASCAR, the WolfPack, and gardening. A quiet man, he was always fair and honest. Gladwin had a strong faith. He loved God, his family and his church.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 53 years, Faye Suggs, of Cary; his two children, Gary Suggs and wife Kim, of Fayetteville and Kathy Ellington and husband Mark, of Raleigh; his grandson, Chad Ellington; and his brothers, Grady and Myron Suggs and their families in Dublin, NC.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday afternoon, March 25, 2012 at 2 PM at Macedonia United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Jesse Staton. Family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall.
The family does wish to express special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Rex and WakeMed Cary for their care of Gladwin, especially the staffs of Dr. Vora’s, Dr. Graham’s and Dr. Shah’s offices.
