

Glennie "Sam" Barnhill, 79, of Cary, NC died in his home with his wife and girls by his side on April 24, 2015. He was born on July 15, 1935 in Hemingway, SC to the late William and Isolene Marsh Barnhill. He was a loving husband, and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; and loved his McDonald’s coffee.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rebecca M. Barnhill; daughters, Janet Cromer of Winston Salem, Lynn Barnhill and Mark Snyder of Cary, Leigh and Andy Roach of Apex; stepdaughters, Debbie and Shelby; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 4 siblings; and many nieces and nephews. He shared a special relationship with two of his grandchildren, Samantha and Clay. A brother and a grandchild also predecease Sam.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, April 27, 2015 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary. Burial will be at Sorrell's Grove Cemetery in Morrisville.
The family will receive friends starting at 1:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
