My college roommate, high school friend, and funniest guy ever.  Miss him. 

Gregg could never say NO when things made sense. As a student, he was asked to teach the subject to the whole class. Gregg couldn't say no. He did a great job, and the teacher told him he would be teaching a whole class by himeself next semester. It made sense, and he couldn't say no. When doctors said he should give up smoking, it made sense and he couldn't say no. Lose weight? Makes sense, couldn't say no. Son was worried about stomach pain and wondered if he should go see if it were appendicitis? It made sense and he couldn't say no. His workload increased but he was urged to stick with it- "for the students". Made sense and he couldn't say no. His ex-wife needed someone to care for her as she struggled with cancer and other medical issues. She needed help and he just couldn't say no.

I'd like to think that God mentioned to Gregg how much he was needed , and what good he could do in heaven. If it made sense, Gregg just wouldn't be able to say no.

As much as I miss him, I wouldn't pull him away from paradise even for a minute. You are not forgotten, buddy.

Met Greg in Stokesdale North Carolina is a great neighbor. little party get-togethers with him and remember doing a lotdinners for him since he always work so late. He will truly be missed he was a wonderful friend

We met Gregg in the summer of 1989, when we were travelling in the US and were invited to spend the week with the Wallace clan at Atlantic Beach , where they customarily spent their extended family summer break.  My husband, Ken, was Gregg's cousin - his mother was the elder sister of Gregg's dad.

We both remember Gregg as a funny, laid-back guy who loved to have fun.  There was a water slide  somewhere in the vicinity - a reasonably novel thing in those days - and Gregg couldn't get enough of it!  He was also passionate about American Football, and there were a couple of heated debates between him and Ken about the relative merits of that game versus New Zealand's national game of Rugby.  Also some lessons on the beach aimed at teaching Ken how to throw a 'football' properly. The cousins got on well and we'll remember Gregg as a really nice guy.

Even though I didn't work directly with Gregg, he always had a warm smile and friendly words whenever I saw him. His robust laughter will be missed throughout the hallways of Wake Tech. May God grant each of you the peace that surpasses all understanding. Just like the beautiful birds that he photographed, God is allowing Gregg's wings to soar as well. Rest in Peace Gregg!

To my dear friend Waldo,

We spent most of the first 20 years of our lives together...terrorizing the neighborhood, shooting BB guns, playing ping pong in your basement, playing tricks on your dear mother, and just generally having a blast.  I'm honestly surprised we survived!

If there is an idyllic childhood, you and I (and Ward) had it.  How you (a complete jock) and I (a complete geek) ever became friends, I will never understand. All I know is that we were inseparable.

I still remember the afternoon (we had nothing to do) when we went to Birmingham searching for sable furs, because someone told me you could buy them cheap in Russia.  We got thrown out of the best places in town!!!

But the worst was when we came home and told your wonderful mother.  "Oh Dean...you are such an idiot!" she told me.  "Idiot" was a very special and endearing term for Mrs. Wallace

I was so glad you found a wonderful partner late in life.  Jeannie and you complemented each other in so many  ways.  It really did my heart good to see you happy, and to reconnect with you over the past couple years.

I will miss you more than I can express my dear friend. The world is a sadder place without your smiling face.  By the way, please say hello to your mom, and apologize for all the things we did to her!

My sincere condolences to Jeannie, Pete your kids and sisters.  My heart aches knowing the loss you have all suffered.

May your memory be eternal...and may God keep you always in the shadow of His wings.

Gregg was my little brother, but he was bigger and better than me in more ways than I can count.  He told hilarious stories of our growing up together, was more athletic than me in every sport, and had a kind and gentle heart that I can only aspire to match. I will miss him dearly, but I am comforted in the knowledge that he is now in God’s eternal care. I love you, Gregg. 
 

I worked for many years with Gregg, and while I left Wake Tech several years ago, I can still hear his laugh and see his smile. Treasure your memories, and he will always be with you. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

Gregg was so good natured.  We would stop and talk in the hallway and have a laugh.  I loved to hear his fish stories and watch the videos he made fishing.   Gregg will be missed.  Praying for the family.

We had the pleasure of working with Gregg for many years. He was always fun and had a terrific sense of humor. We will miss him dearly. 

Gregg was a great guy, not only for the work he did for Wake Tech, but a really nice person- he always had a smile for everyone.  Here is a little remembrance of Gregg for those of us who had the opportunity to work with him on EPIC. 

Gregg was always a ray of sunshine when he would stop by my office.  He had the best laugh, and I will miss our hockey conversations and his wonderful stories about attending the Red Wings games (with octopus in tow) when he was younger.  He cared deeply for his students and would always ask for guidance to keep them on the right path.  He would always talk about his kids and I ache for what you are going through.  Dustin, Katie, and Jeanne, please know that everyone at WTCC is thinking of you and sending you support at this time.  

I am very impressed you created the interactive syllabus template for our division.  Now I will never see you.  May your soul be blessed.  We miss you, Gregg! 

I have known and worked with Gregg for many years.  The love for his family was always shown.  The care he had for teaching and his students was very evident, as well.  I just recently had the opportunity to see some of his nature photographs from this summer and was very touched by the images he captured.  I will miss his sweet smile. Many thoughts and prayers for the family.  

Gregg was a super person who always had something interesting to share when you were in conversation with him. He was always happy, smiling, and usually found humor in difficult situations. One such situation occurred when dealing with his EPIC mentoring duties. We had a wonderful time discussing how he thought he should manage it talking in his straight-forward tone, then adding a joke that he knew he had to do it differently. He was a fantastic EPIC mentor for Wake Technical Community College and a great professor. He will be dearly missed by his colleagues and friends.

You are in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. Gregg was great to work with and will be missed by all.

Dustin, Katie and Jeanne, my thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this time of sorrow. Gregg was a great co-worker who will be missed dearly. Cherish all those great memories.

Gregg was a wonderful colleague, easy to work with and a had a smile for everyone, but also committed to student success. As an early adopter and staunch supporter of our eLearning Preparedness initiative at Wake Tech, he spent countless hours improving his courses for online students, and then mentored and trained others in doing the same. Because of his work and collaboration with others, Wake Tech was able to make the transition to all online learning on a dime when the pandemic hit in a way that provided our students what they needed to succeed.  I know I, as well as many others, will miss Gregg very much.

Words seem inadequate to express the sorrow felt by the loss of Gregg. I worked with Gregg for 20 years and will miss his laughter.  His students will miss his passion for coding and wise guidance. To Dustin, Katie, and Jeanne may your loving memories bring you peace, comfort, and strength.
