Hampton Herman Henry, 84, of Wilmington, NC, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2010. He was born in Brunswick County, NC on April 4, 1925 to Clarence Herman Henry and Naomi Sullivan Henry. Hampton was a US Army veteran of WWII. He retired from Peoples Drug Store in Washington, DC after over 40 years with the company as a Warehouse Manager.
Hampton is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margarita Davalos Martinez Henry; daughter, Mary Marechek and husband, Gary of Cary, NC; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Katie of Cary, NC; and siblings, Alma, Betty, Roy, Kinnie, Nellie, Ann and Larry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl.
A memorial service to celebrate Hampton’s life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Winter Park Presbyterian Church, 4501 Wrightsville Avenue, Wilmington, NC.
