Henny Olga Johnson

Henny Olga Johnson 80, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on March 24, 2012 in Cary, NC after a long battle with cancer. She was born in the community of Herod, in southern Norway on December 22, 1931. She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Crysta Patterson and parents Ivar and Borghild Michelsen.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Kurt Johnson, daughters Sandra McClave (Gary) and Eve de Vito (Marco), son Glenn Johnson (Nancy), and five grandchildren: Jim and Steve McClave, Ashley and Emma Johnson, and Jessica Patterson. She is also survived by five sisters and two brothers.

While visiting an uncle in America in 1952, she met Kurt and they married shortly thereafter. She was a loving mother and dedicated homemaker and enjoyed decorating, sewing, crochet, knitting, and crewelwork. She loved to entertain, travel and visited almost all of Europe. Later in life she became an avid bridge player. She enjoyed many summers with Kurt in a cabin she had her brother build, located in the area where she was born. Family members and friends were able to visit throughout the years.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to her caregivers and many loving friends for their thoughtfulness and generous support during her illness.

Funeral services will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 S.E. Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511 at 11:00 am Sunday, April 1, 2012. A reception will immediately follow after services.
