Jackie has been married to James McDuffee of Cary N.C. for 50 years he survives. Also surviving are her sister, Guelda D. Ciera of Niagara Falls, NY; and a number of other family members stretching across the United States from California, Arizona, Georgia, Delaware, New York and North Carolina.
Jackie spent the first 18 years of her life in central West Virginia, attending a 2 room school house which soon became her home. Upon Turing 18, with nothing more than five dollars in her pocket and that fierce West Virginian spirit left for Washington D.C. to work with the GECO corporation where her leadership skills were soon discovered. It was during this time, on a blind date, she met her future husband, Jim McDuffee who was stationed in the D.C. area with the United States Navy. They soon were married, and have enjoyed 50 years of marriage together.
Jackie enjoyed a life filled with Love of Animals, Visiting with friends, Music and concerts of all kinds (she never miss a chance to take in a concert with the Cary girls), Jackie enjoyed traveling to new places both near and far, never missing the chance of seeing something new. While Jackie may not have believed in highly organized charities, she was passionate about helping those in need. People never went unnoticed. People with a story, People with a need always received an extra blessing if Jackie had anything to do with it. Jackie also enjoyed her long journey with Jay Gilleece and the team at the engineering firm where she faithfully served as office manager for 30 years.
Jackie has attended First United Methodist church in Cary, where she along with other ladies from the community could be found on any given Sunday filling their very own pews.
On August 8, in the comfort and beauty of her home in Cary with the love of her life, Jim, by her side she gently and peacefully entered into eternal rest with her Savior.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday August 13, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary. Visitation will be from 6:15 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
